  1. Beyond our borders: Alley Cat Allies is taking on the U.S. National Park Service (NPS) in an effort to save community cats. In late 2023, the NPS announced a plan to remove community cats living on federal lands in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. ACA has filed a lawsuit to stop this action. Watch ACA’s new YouTube video to learn more about what’s happening.

  2. Science in action! After years of research, a research team has discovered a new colour of cat in Finland! Read more in the BBC Science Focus Magazine. The study is also published in Animal Genetics.

  3. Buy some art, help a nonprofit! The Grand Prairie Cat Crew Summer Art Auction kicks off July 22- August 3rd! Get a Sneak Peek of the art you can bid on here.

  4. If you’re like us, we worry about the health of the felines in our lives. That’s why we’re so glad we ran across the Top 25 Most Common Cat Diseases, Parasites and Health Problems, from Care Credit, so we’ll know what to look for to keep our kitties healthy.

  5. One health issue on the above list: Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). Did you know it is now a beatable cat illness?! DFW-area FIP-Warrior West is a recent survivor following lengthy treatment! Meet him on the Buddies Place Cat Rescue Facebook page.

  6. In case you missed it, July 15th was National Pet Fire Safety Day! Read these American Red Cross tips to help keep your pet safe!

  7. On a related note, a kitty in Maryland is being called a “Hero Cat” after alerting sleeping homeowners to a house fire. Sadly, Prince, did not make it after it is believed he went back into the home looking for someone else. Details in this Fox News report.

  8. Attention DFW-area readers! The Texas Coalition for Animal Protection is offering low-cost vaccines this Saturday, July 20th, from 8am-10am in Dallas, Hurst and Keene, and in Fort Worth from 10am-12pm. Check out the TCAP calendar.

Amazon Prime Day may be over, but there are still deals on a couple of the products we shared with you earlier this week.

📦️ As of July 19th, you can save $20 on the Petlibrio Automatic Pet Feeder with Night Vision equipped with WiFi and a camera with a clickable coupon on Amazon. WiFi setup was easy and the app works well so far. Note: If you want to save videos to the cloud you have to subscribe for $119.99 annually or $59.99 a month. Read the reviews on Amazon.

🐈️ Want to learn more about your cat? Try a Cat DNA Test. Spruce shares its list of the 4 Best Cat DNA Tests, and guess what, THREE of them are still on sale even after Amazon Prime Day. The only one that isn’t on sale as of today is the cat dental test listed.

😿 Sadly the great deal on Purina Pro Plan Hydra Care Veterinary Supplements (no RX required) ended with Amazon Prime Day. This supplement for indoor & outdoor kitties help with hydration needs. Read more about this nutrient-rich water here, and of course, always refer to your vet for professional guidance on your kitty’s health and wellness. It’s not an inexpensive supplement and currently selling for around ($45.95).

😿 Keep the Kleenex out because the PetFusion Ultimate Cat Scratcher Lounge we love is unfortunately no longer on sale currently either. It’s now selling for roughly $53. however it is well worth the price. Purchased in May 2021, the author’s kitties use all the time and it is built to last. It’s very high quality and looks stylish.

🙀 Finally, OH DEAR! A product this author purchased during Amazon Prime Day is somehow CHEAPER after the fact! I speak of this pair of Deep and Extra Large Stainless Steel Cat Litter Boxes. Roughly $15 bucks cheaper now with a $10 Amazon coupon than what this author paid!

Happy Shopping from The Kitty Sheet!
